A Saguaro forest

cactus pola-0235

Or as Maria likes to say, "a cactus party".

When I think of the desert, the Saguaro cactus is what comes to mind... well, that and tumbleweeds.  There aren't a whole lot of these around the Phoenix area, but once you head south to Tucson, they're everywhere.  Since being here, I wouldn't say it's my favorite kind of cactus, but definitely one worth photographing.  This one stood about 35 feet tall!

I also believe cactus are much more fascinating in person ;)

  2. I just bought two small cacti and am pretty much smitten. I would love to see a field of saguaro! That's a beautiful polaroid!! They are really kind of like people with their individuality. I wonder if there are any stories about them in Native American history...
