That's right people... the open road is calling us once again. In two weeks time, we'll be heading south to Phoenix, Arizona where the skies are blue, the air is dry, and the temperature is a balmy 80 degrees... at least until summer hits.
Scott got the call yesterday at work with the 13 week travel job offer. I could see the excitement and relief on his face when he walked through the door after the girls were in bed. "Did you get my message?" he asked grinning from ear to ear. I could've swore I texted him back. His current employer was sad to hear the news and only had great things to say about his attitude and aptitude at work. That's my boy!
His new job will be in the heart of downtown Phoenix. With most campgrounds being roughly a half hour away from the city, it's most likely we'll be searching Craigslist for a scooter. Can't wait to get a picture of him on that thing! Phoenix is also about 1.5 hours north of Tucson, so making the commute to see my family won't be more than a hop, skip, and a jump. And the extra bonus? my sister and her family will be arriving there a day after us, so there will be LOTS of catching up to do. I can hardly contain my excitement!!
And the 'ol silver bullet will look awfully shiny cruising down that highway, cause she got a bath last week. I think it's been years since she's been washed and boy what a difference it made.
Things are finally falling into place. Hopefully the next job will be easier to find with a little travel experience under his belt. We've got a bit of preparing to do before leaving, including some shopping for that warmer weather.
I'm leaving you today with this song which depicts the way we're all feeling... minus the fact that we don't make music. :)
what great news!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to you and your husband.
Oh this is great news Barbara! I'm so happy for you guys. I hope you have a great experience. Tim and I toss around the travel nursing thing every so often...it would be great to live in some other places again. :)
ReplyDeletebrooke, is your husband a nurse as well?
ReplyDeleteWow...congrats! What a wonderful experience you are giving your children travelling around like this. Just be sure to get out of phoenix before summer okay, it's so crazy hot there but I'm sure you know that. Have a great time!
