Time flies

Happy Thursday everyone!  Boy, time has been flying by here in Arizona. For us, May is a month full of birthdays and holidays and it's crazy to think that the month is already almost half way over. And quite honestly, I'm hoping June goes by just as quick so we can get the heck outta this heat!  What were we thinking coming here this time of year?  Well, one reason as many of you already know, is because my parents are here, but after Saturday our trips down to Tucson will end.  The 'snowbirds' are going north for the summer.

We spent this past weekend at their house visiting, laughing, shopping, and eating.  My digital camera is getting fixed so I'm sharing some film pictures I took during a previous trip.

It was such a joy having family so close to us and it definitely made our stay in HOT Arizona more tolerable.  The girls loved running around their home with access to many more rooms than the trailer in which we live.  Scott's cousin Keith and his lovely girlfriend Sally also came to visit while we were there.  There ended up being an unexpected sleepover Saturday night and good times were had by all.  But after leaving Tucson on Sunday, I still felt like I needed one more day.

We returned to Mesa with Keith and Sally and went to Saguaro Lake to hang out before the sun set.  With the kids in bed, the boys made elk burgers which were enjoyed that night at our new patio table and chairs.  Moments of silence were rare and topics of conversation were in heavy rotation.  SO much fun having them here.

Scott was back to work Monday morning, our visitors were flying out that afternoon, and I was secretly planning a Tuesday visit to Tucson. :)

That's just what the girls and I did too.  One more day of visiting, rehashing about the previous weekend, and a final farewell, left me feeling at peace with them leaving.  But of course we couldn't leave without some sort of mishap, this time it was Ginger grabbing a prickly pear cactus.  Little prickers were all over her fingers, but she was a trooper and soon enough I was able to get them all out.  Live and learn.

So, now we're home once again... and it feels good.  We've got a three day trip planned for Pleasant Lake in a little over a week and another trip to California planned for the beginning of June. Joshua Tree and San Diego being the main attractions. :)  I'm sure at some point we'll journey up to the Grand Canyon and who knows where else.  Lots to do down here and hopefully I get my camera back soon so I can document it all.

No big plans for the weekend other than our first movie in the park on Friday night.  They're showing 'Aladdin' and Maria is really excited to go.  We'll see if we make it through the whole thing.

Enjoy the rest of your week!!

  1. It sounds as though your Arizona stay has been a wonderful one. I would give anything for some dry heat right now. We have had nothing but rain and more rain with a couple days of sun here and there, but hardly enough to dry out.

You have some great plans coming up. I hope you enjoy each one. San Diego is one of our favorite vacation spots. My hubby and I spent our honeymoon there at "The Del" on Coranado Island. Such a fun place to visit. I hope you get your camera back very soon, it must be so hard without it.
    Have a great weekend!
