Back to the grind

Well, I'm home from my trip to MN. and let me tell ya... it was wonderful!  The first travel day was full of delays and mishaps but I got to my sister's house safe and sound.  That night I made her family dinner and we stayed up late talking and laughing.  My entire trip was filled with things to do, places to go, and people to see.

Dinner at the Brewhouse with great friends on Wednesday night followed by a concert was definitely a highlight of the trip.  Reconnecting, great conversation, and dancing were exactly what I needed.  It was a late, late night, but one that won't be forgotten.  Thanks ladies (you know who you are) for an amazing evening.

(kind of a crappy picture)

I got my hair colored for the first time (nothing too dramatic) from my little sister and an amazing haircut from Adeline.  I saw snow, sleet, rain, sunshine, blue skies, pussy willows, and that gorgeous lake that I missed so much.  It makes me that much more excited to come back in July when we'll have a bit more time to check out the things we love.

I didn't take many pictures because my camera was/is broken, but I did capture a few moments with my Pentax.  Like this one...

Amber accompanied me in getting my first tattoo.  I was scared shitless and don't think I could've went through with it without her there.  The anticipation ended up being worse than the pain and we both walked out of there with new ink and memories that will literally last a lifetime.  Thanks Amber for being there, joining me for dinner afterwards, and for being such an awesome friend.

it's forever

I love my tattoo and I love that there will always be such significance behind it.  It reflects who I am and I'm still in shock that it's there and never going away.  It's very surreal.  I'll post a picture in the future when it's all healed and as soon as I figure out how to photograph it in a good way.

As much fun as my trip was, it felt good to come home to Scott and the girls, and enjoy a Chipotle burrito bowl in the comfort of my own home.  It's funny how after being away for a few days, everything seems so different.  Maria's voice and pronunciation of words sounded so strange!

Thanks to everyone that took the time out of their busy schedules to see me.  It was such a wonderful and fun homecoming.
